Classical BaZi divides the day by the sun's position, not by administrative clock zones. BaZi Compass converts your birth clock time to true solar time using your birthplace longitude and the equation of time — the same standard used by serious practitioners. A birth at 12:00 in Ürümqi is a 9:50 solar-time birth: often a different hour pillar, sometimes a different day.
Privacy
No third-party code runs in this app — no analytics, no advertising SDK, no tracking pixel. Don't take our word for it: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network panel, and read your whole chart. Nothing leaves this site, apart from the licence check when you paste a key.

The date on your birth certificate or ID. Not the lunar date 农历/旧历 — a lunar birthday entered here produces a chart that looks perfectly normal and is for the wrong day. BaZi is built from the sun's position, so it never needs the lunar date, and leap months 闰月 do not affect it at all.
Don't know the hour? Leave it on Hour unknown — you still get a full three-pillar reading.
Leave blank if you don't know it — the chart is read from the middle of the hour.
Schools split on this hour, and they disagree about two characters, not one: under 晚子时 both the day pillar and the hour stem move to the next day. If you were told your chart looks different elsewhere, this is usually why. This question appears by solar time, not clock time — west of your time zone's meridian it can show up for a birth after midnight, and stay hidden for one at 23:30.
Pick the sex recorded at the moment of your birth — that is what the classical method uses. It sets the direction your 10-year luck cycles (大运) run, from your birth-year stem plus one of two traditional rules the texts call 男命 and 女命. It is a calculation input from the tradition, not a question about who you are, and it changes nothing else in your chart.

How billing works: you subscribe on Gumroad and it renews itself — monthly or yearly, your choice at checkout. A Gumroad subscription key keeps working for as long as the subscription is live, so there is nothing to re-enter. (A prepaid key — a gift or promotional key issued by hand — instead runs to the end of its BaZi period; you'll be sent the next one before it lapses.) Cancel anytime from your Gumroad account: you keep everything through the end of the period you've already paid for, and you're never charged again.
Given a prepaid key instead (a gift, a promo, a one-off)? Those aren't subscriptions: a month key runs to the next major solar term (节) and a year key to Lichun (立春), then simply stops — nothing to cancel, nothing charged.
