Privacy Policy

BaZi Compass · Last updated July 12, 2026
The one-line version: your birth details and readings are computed and stored on your own device. We run no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and we never sell or share your data.

1. Who we are

BaZi Compass ("we", "the app") is an entertainment application that computes Chinese Four Pillars (BaZi) charts and readings. This policy explains what we do and don't do with information when you use the app or buy a subscription or report.

2. Information you enter

To draw your chart the app asks for a name label, birth date, birth time, birthplace (longitude/timezone or city) and sex. This information:

If you export a backup file, that file is created locally and saved wherever you choose; we never receive it.

3. Subscription & licence keys

If you activate a paid tier, the app stores your licence key and activation date locally. When you enter a store-issued (e.g. Gumroad) key, only the key string is sent to that store's verification endpoint to confirm the purchase is valid — no birth data and no other identifiers are attached.

4. Payments

We do not process or see your payment details. All purchases are handled by the storefront you buy from — Gumroad, Apple App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store — under their own privacy policies and terms. Their handling of your name, email and card data is governed by them, not us. Refunds and subscription management follow that storefront's rules.

5. What we collect about your usage

Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no cookies used for tracking, no device fingerprinting, and no crash-reporting that leaves your device. We cannot see how you use the app.

6. Third parties

We do not use any other third-party service that receives your personal data.

No third-party code runs in this app. The app loads scripts from its own address and from nowhere else — no analytics library, no advertising SDK, no tracking pixel, no social widget, no font or stylesheet fetched from another company. This is stronger than a promise not to share data: nothing belonging to anyone else is present on the page to read it in the first place. You can confirm it yourself in about ten seconds — open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and read your chart, your month and your year: every request stays on this site. The single exception is the licence check described in section 4, which runs only when you paste a key, and sends only that key.

7. Children

BaZi Compass is intended for users aged 13 and older and is presented for entertainment and reflection. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, children included.

8. Your choices & rights

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control: edit or delete any profile in More → Profiles, export a backup, or clear all data by removing the app or clearing site data. There is no account for us to delete because we never created one.

9. Security

Data kept on your device is protected by your device's own security. Licence-key checks travel over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. As no personal data reaches our servers, there is no central database that could be breached.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and note it in the app's release notes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

11. Contact

Questions about privacy? Reach us through the contact option on the storefront where you bought or downloaded the app, or the support email listed on that store page.
